除了个人的创作之外，叶独元担任东南亚美术协会会长的职务，领导并促进交流。

他在2023年联合东南亚美术协会会员，假醉花林俱乐部，举办了“回首迎新”书画展，展出了创会会员及现任会员的书画、陶瓷作品。

Yeh Toh Yen's oil paintings are primarily realistic, through which he conveys emotions, thoughts, and insights into life, allowing viewers to experience rich emotions and reflections in his works.

In addition to his personal creations, Yeh Toh Yen serves as the President of the South-East Asia Art Association, leading and promoting artistic exchanges.

In 2023, he collaborated with members of the South-East Asia Art Association to host the "Stepping Forward In Retrospective" calligraphy and painting exhibition at the Chui Huey Lim Club. The exhibition featured works of calligraphy, paintings, and ceramics by founding and current members.
