东南亚美术协会是1970年成立的 ，创会伊始，主要以油画力主，随着艺术研究和创作的不断深入，水墨画部于1995年应运而生，此后协会逐步拓展为油画，水墨画、书法等艺术种类一体的综合性艺术团体。出版、展览、交流作为一体的工作重点，每年都组织会员与国内外艺术团体进行互动交流。
1960年以来，叶之威先生常领导“十人画家”旅行东南亚各地如印尼、印 度、尼泊尔、泰国、柬埔寨、马来亚等国，搜集画材之后，举办“ 十人画展” ，而参加过“ 十人画展”的成员扩大组织並于1970年成立“东南亚美术协会”。
1995年水墨画部成立，由来自北京的吴墨林先生指导，每年在新加坡举行书画展 ，同时也组团带领团员至中国北京、苏州 、杨州 、洛阳 、上海 、杭州及南宁等地作书画交流展 ，吴先生现已回北京，但他现在仍是协会的指导老师！
South-East Asia Art Association was established in 1970. Initially focused on oil painting, the association expanded its scope to include ink painting and calligraphy in 1995, evolving into a comprehensive artistic organization encompassing various forms of art, such as oil painting, ink painting, and calligraphy. The association's key activities involve publishing, exhibitions, and fostering exchanges, organizing annual interactions between members and art groups both locally and internationally.
Since 1960, Mr. Yeh Chi Wei has been leading the "Ten Artists" on journeys across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaya, and other countries. After collecting materials, they would host the "Ten Men Art Exhibition." The participants in these exhibitions eventually expanded and formed the South-East Asia Art Association in 1970.
In 1995, the Ink Painting Department was established under the guidance of Mr. Wu Molin from Beijing. Each year, the association organizes art exhibitions in Singapore and leads members on art exchange trips to various cities in China, such as Beijing, Suzhou, Yangzhou, Luoyang, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Nanning. Although Mr. Wu has returned to Beijing, he remains the guiding teacher for the association!

东南亚美术协会书画展 “翰墨征程” ，即将在醉花林俱乐部开幕了 。在此表示祝贺！
这次展览与以往单 一主题性书画展不同，堪称是一次综合性展览。展出的60 余件作品，形式多样，囊括油画、中国画、 书法及陶瓷等多种艺术表现形式。参展 的艺术家们在各自所长的领域内，呈献美好的作品，体现出较高的艺术水平。尤其是面对疫情下的新常态，他们并没有停止创作的脚步，而是配合政府的抗疫措施， 积极参与这次展览 ，精神可嘉。
醉花林沉淀百年文化底蘊，又充满现代气息。 “翰墨征程” 在这里举行，更有纪念意义。希望此次展览能够增进艺术家之间的交流，让公众欣赏到炉火纯青的书画技法，从中感受东南亚美术协会的艺术家们几十年来不懈追求，团结一心，共同推动传统艺术的坚定信心。
东南亚美术协会从萌芽、成长到壮大 ，六十余载耕耘，硕果累累。再启新程， 惟愿艺术家们再接再厉，创作出更多的佳作。

South-East Asia Art Association's painting and calligraphy exhibition, "The Journey for the Art" is about to open at Chui Huay Lim Club. Congratulations on this occasion!
This exhibition differs from previous singular-themed painting and calligraphy exhibitions; it can be considered a comprehensive showcase. With over 60 diverse pieces, the exhibition spans various art forms, including oil painting, Chinese painting, calligraphy, and ceramics. Participating artists, each showcasing their strengths, present their best works, reflecting a high level of artistic proficiency. Particularly commendable is their resilience in continuing their creative endeavors despite the challenges posed by the new normal under the pandemic. They actively participate in this exhibition, aligning with government anti-pandemic measures.
Chui Huay Lim Club, steeped in a century of cultural heritage yet pulsating with modernity, provides a meaningful venue for "The Journey for the Art." It is hoped that this exhibition will enhance communication among artists, allowing the public to appreciate the exquisite painting and calligraphy techniques. Through this, experience the South-East Asia Art Association's artists' unwavering pursuit over decades, united and steadfast in promoting traditional art.
From its inception, growth, to its current stature, the South-East Asia Art Association has cultivated for over sixty years, yielding abundant fruits. As they embark on a new journey, it is hoped that artists will continue to strive and create more outstanding works.

东南亚美术协会将于2021年10月15日至18日在醉花林俱乐部举办“翰墨征程”艺术展。此次展览将展示自2019年上一次展览以来会员创作的艺术品。开幕式上将由俱乐部总理拿督斯里张建安PBM发表演讲。
The Southeast Asia Art Association will host the 'The Journey for the Art' art exhibition at the Chui Huey Lim Club from October 15 to 18, 2021. The exhibition will showcase artworks created by members since the last exhibition in 2019. The opening ceremony will feature a speech by the club's Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Teo Kiang Ann, PBM
